Hi my name is Prathyusha Kola, also known as Pretty, and I am currently working with Harmony Homecare, where I’ve had the privilege of supporting our management team with legislative compliance and industry standards for over four and a half years.
I initially joined Harmony Homecare as an Administration Officer. After completing my Diploma in Quality Auditing, I was promoted to the role of Quality & Safety Officer in May 2022. In my current position, I conduct regular internal performance audits, maintain our Quality Management Systems, and ensure our practices align with NDIS and Aged Care quality standards. From preparing for external audits to investigating incidents and compliance breaches, my work is driven by a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of care and safety for both our clients and staff.
What unique skills and strengths do you contribute to your role as Quality & Safety Officer?
In my role as Quality & Safety Officer, I bring meticulous attention to detail, which is crucial for maintaining compliance and ensuring all our systems and practices meet the required standards. My strong analytical skills enable me to effectively assess our current processes and identify areas for improvement. My ability to communicate complex compliance issues clearly has been invaluable in supporting management, employees, and contractors.
What motivated you to pursue a career in Quality & Safety?
I was motivated to pursue a career in Quality & Safety by a deep desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Ensuring high standards of quality and safety directly contributes to improving the wellbeing of our clients and creating a safer, more supportive environment for staff. The opportunity to be at the forefront of implementing and maintaining these standards has always been a driving force for me, and seeing tangible outcomes, such as improved audit results and a safer workplace, reinforces my commitment to this field.
What are your favourite hobbies?
In my free time, I enjoy engaging in activities that help me unwind and recharge, such as volunteer work, forest walks and playing badminton etc. These hobbies allow me to maintain a balanced lifestyle keep my mind refreshed.
What do you do for your own wellbeing?
To ensure my own wellbeing, I prioritize mindfulness and a healthy work-life balance. This includes daily physical activity, such as walking, yoga, or simply taking moments throughout the day to stretch and breathe. Staying connected with loved ones and participating in activities that bring me joy are also essential to maintaining my mental and emotional health.
